The Department of Energy had devised a solution to the power supply problem in the country.

Thru Coal Transmission Reinforcement Project, power supply will increase from 8,000 MW in 2012 to 10,700 in 2020, and will increase further to 16,500 in 2030.

Lower monthly electric bills will soon enjoy by the residents of Bataan since the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) had finished their P299 million transmission project that will be installed in Mariveles by May. The project named Mariveles Coal Transmission Reinforcement Project will distribute additional 600 megawatts capacity to GN Power Ltd.’s new coal-fired electric generation facility.

A link will be established to Luzon power grid thru 38-circuit kilometer transmission line from Mariveles to a substation in Limay. [via pia.gov.ph]
