Balanga City reports income hike by P364M

According to Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III, the revenue earned by our city last year had reached to P467 million. In 2001, the revenue is only P103 million. The income generated from tourist arrivals, improved peace and order situation, enhanced health facilities and programs, new investments and infrastructures. He also predicted that the income will increase to P923 million by 2020, the year when "University Town" program will be achieved. Garcia also announced the full confidence of investors with P764-million new investments for 2010. This is equivalent to 60 percent increase compared to 2009 with P477 million. Another accomplishment is the entry of the New San Jose Builders in rebuilding the former 4,500-square-meter arcade into the Galeria Victoria with an investment of P250 million. The city had installed 36 wireless surveillance cameras in major sites to maintain peace and order program. There are 25 barangays which formed their barangay brigades. Their goal is to lookout the exit and entry points of the city against unruly elements.

The city’s health program had accomplished the construction of three buildings with three floors in the modern Bataan General Hospital. The Galing Card healthcare program has continued to reach out to 8,756 indigent families. The fund for 608 patients was P3.8 million.  Among the healthy life style implemented are No Smoking regulations, proper disposal of garbage, LPG conversion program for tricycles and the hataw sa umaga exercise program in the city plaza.
