Fake JanSport Bags Confiscated in Mariveles, Bataan

In a simultaneous operations conducted on separate shops in Mariveles, Bataan, NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) had confiscated fake JanSport bags worth approximately P7.5 million.

M3D Wearing Apparel and Crisports Bag Manufacturer located along Roman Highway, Alas Asin, Mariveles, and the Orient Sports Gear at 646 Viray Street, Purok IV, Ipag, Mariveles were the raided stores recently.

There were 2,367 pieces of counterfeit JanSport bags, 5,771 pieces of Jansport labels, 979 pieces of Jansport hangtags found in three establishments including six units of sewing machines.

Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) of NBI had conducted surveillance and test-buys first to confirm complaints. After the confirmation, NBI decided to conduct the raids stop the illegal operations.

The three establishments will be accountable of Charges of Trademark Infringement under the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines or Republic Act 8293.

Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) of NBI is currently working to fully eradicate illegal manufacturing of fake bags and apparels. [via Manila Bulletin - mb.com.ph]
