A research study on available organic feed for broilers was conducted by Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) people. Their goal is to produce organic-chicken meat.

The title of the research of Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia is Feeding Value of Spent Dried Salted Fish as Partial and Total Replacement to Broiler Ration. It was also coauthored by Rudy C. Flores, BPSU Orani Campus director.

Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia is a faculty in the College of Agriculture and coexisting associate director for Extension Research Services. Dr. Paguia's research is one of the two BPSU research papers presented in the latest International Conference in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine held at Tokyo, Japan. According to Dr. Paguia there were constructive feedbacks from the participants considering the paper's impact on searching for inexpensive and locally available high-end feed materials for poultry and the scheme to certify the protocol on organic-meat production using organic additives as replacement to health threat, antibiotic growth promoters being comprehensively used in the animal diets by small and large animal-holders in the country.

Another research paper he authored and presented in the international conference is the Evaluation of Different Medication Programs on Two Strains of Broiler (Gallus domesticus Linn). The worldwide convention was prearranged by World Academy for Science, Engineering and Technology, the international scientific forum of distinguished scholars engaged in scientific research on agriculture, technology and engineering dedicated to further science and technology.

The participation of BPSU in the recent prestigious international conference paved the way for promotion of the university's programs not only in instructions but, more important, in its research and development activities and directions, added the BPSU official.

Among the countries which participated are Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Romania, India, Japan, Egypt, Sudan and China, pointed out Paguia. [via businessmirror.com.ph]
