The newly created Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) is set to be viewed soon, according to Bataan Second District Rep. Albert Garcia. The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) will turn over the exclusive authority to the management of FAB.Three weeks ago, the 8 members of FAB board officially sworn. They are consists of one representative from: Bataan provincial government Bataan Second District Mariveles local government Local locators Foreign Locators Labor sector Two Representatives from Malacañang. The creation of FAB happened after sponsoring Republic Act 9728. This converted the Bataan Economic Zone or BEZ into the FAB. We'll view this as the major free port and economic zone since it is purposefully located along the Manila Bay. The progress of FAB focuses on its management, advertising and expansion. With the capital stock of P2 billion from the National Govt., FAB will be beneficial to all of the needs of our province such as taxes, other emoluments, infrastructure, and a lot of employment. Peza has secretaries of national departments while FAB already has an administrator, although he has not yet been named. With FAB, we are very optimistic that our province will become richer in the coming years since this will gain both local and foreign investments and 100,000 job opportunities.
