Educational research confirmed that schools or principals that prioritizes the support for new teachers attained very satisfactory pupil achievement, improved teaching – learning conditions, strengthened organizational climate and increased job satisfaction. The task of mentoring new teachers lies on the shoulder of School heads or School principals. Thus, School administrators should include INSETS (In – Service Training) and programs that would be beneficial for beginning teachers. Seminars / Trainings must be focused on Professionalism, Teachers Responsibility and Accountability, Code of Ethics for Teachers, Classroom Management Styles, Disciplinary Actions and Teaching Strategies. The success of new or beginning teachers depend largely on how the School Administrators assist and trained them to become efficient and effective. Their first experience in school must be meaningful and we need to help them in understanding their roles in School. Being able to produce good, dedicated and committed teachers would result quality learners. Mrs. Elvira J. Feder – Principal I Ipag Elementary School, Mariveles District |
