Pilar, once troubled town in Bataan, once mark as the center for prostitution and illegal drugs, is now a thing of the past. The town is now one of the most peaceful areas in the region.

The police had been successful in the campaign to rid the town of almost all criminal activities, organized crimes, proliferation of illegal drugs and prostitution, among others, since Mayor Charlie Pizarro, a known anti-illegal drug advocate, took over the helm of the municipal government a few years ago.

Inspector Edgardo Bernardo, a junior police officer who is a recipient of various awards and citations for his devotion to duty, outstanding performance, and loyalty to the public and the police organization, said that Drug pushers and prostitutes have no more place in Pilar. The officials were able to neutralize and drive them away,  and the criminals themselves know that they have no more room in this town.

Lt. Bernardo attributed the restored peace and order in Pilar town to Mayor Pizarro who has been providing full support for the police campaign against crimes, illegal drugs, and other vices.

Due to the peace and order prevailing here, Pilar is fast becoming the center of commerce and education with the establishment of the government center and elite schools, among others. [via]
