Officials led by Mayor Joet S. Garcia have started to renovate the Balanga city plaza, which is to be called Plaza Mayor de Balanga. The said project is done while the city government waits for the implementation of a P200 million new arcade here. And since Balanga's coastal areas have been declared sanctuary for some 50,000 birds which continued to flock in this city, Mayor Garcia also announced the construction of the P8 million Balanga Wetland Center in Barangay Tortugas in preparation for the 5th International Bird Festival set in October. Mayor Garcia said that the renovation of the Plaza is expected to be finished by January next year, while the renovation of the public market is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Many infrastructure projects are being implemented by the Garcia administration. And with this, several other municipalities have followed suit, noting its success in Balanga. [via Manila Bulletin] |
