A Spanish colonial village is being replicated through the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar.

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is rising on the shores of the South China Sea in Bagac, Bataan. Gerry Acuzar thoroughly, plank by plank and tile by tile has transported original heritage homes from all over Luzon. So far, 22 structures have been completely transported on 400-hectares of land. The Museujm Foundation Lisa Periquet, organized the tour of the collection as part of the Filipino Heritage Festival.

Acuzar, a native of Balanga City, Bataan, has acquired ancestral houses from Cagayan, La Union, Quezon and Lubao, Candaba and Mexico all in Pampanga and Meycauayan in Bulacan, and from Manila: two from Binondo, one in Tondo and a school of Fine Arts in Quiapo.

Mr. Acuzar, through his conservation of their ancestral house, helps to remind everyone, especially the youth, not to forget the history of the country which is being portrayed with such replications of the past. [via malaya.com.ph]
