Last August 28-29 KABALIKAT (Kababaihan ng Bataan Lingap sa Kaunlaran at Tagumpay) undergo a training on the production of coconut-based products in Binaritan, Morong, Bataan.Rosalie V. Ona, chief of DOST Bataan said that 17 women from 5 barangays in Moring and other 5 others from Binukawan, Bagac, participated in the said training. In coordination with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), DOST organized the training and the provincial government financed the P30,000 requirement. Resource persons from PCA taught the participants how to make VCO using the fermentation process as well as the production of burger patties, macaroons, flour, pan de sal and bucayo from coconut residue or sapal. DTI also has resource person who gave pointers on how to start a small business. Likewise, representative from Morong Community Development credit Cooperative informed the participants that they could avail loan from the financial institution to start their own business. Aside from the products mentioned above, participants also learned how to make coco jam, buko pie and buko juice. As the leading coconut producers in Bataan and in the presence of facilities in community Enterprise Development and Training Center (CEDPTC) in Barangay Binaritan, Morong and Bagac were chosen as the beneficiaries of the training.
