Servant leaders are those people who serve the common goal of all. He knows how to interact and serve the people around him. He offers help without expecting for anything and he is doing his job not for his personal interests. Thus, if an educator wants to be successful and fulfilled, he must be a Servant Leader. Teachers as servant leader must be sympathetic and understanding. He always give encouraging words and lift up his pupils when they are down and even pushes them up to go on life. He is there to act as parent to his pupils and feel their problem. He also has a lot of self-sacrifice just to satisfy the needs of his pupils. He always consider service first or “Mag-aaral Muna” before his own affair. Teachers as servant leader always take the initiative of providing ideas, direction and even in finding the resources to augment the needs of his pupils. He takes the risk of failure and the chances of success. He is available and always willing to support his pupils in every aspect of their lives. Today, our society longs for such kind of teachers... teachers who are servant leaders. Mrs. Gemma V. Sonza - Teacher III Kabukiran Primary School Abucay District |
