In an attempt of the government to guarantee uninterrupted and cheaper power supply, the operation of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) must remain an option. Because of issues brought up on its state of being safe, the BNPP was never brought into operation from the time it was built until now.In order to lessen spending of the government for oil and coal-based energy sources, BNPP could be one of the choices the government can think over carefully. An invited team from the International Atomic Agency (IAA) visited the Philippines fortnight ago to determine the permissibility of bringing into operations the BNPP and not to begin for the real operations of the BNPP. The Bataan Nuclear Power Plant must not be brought into operation until the time when its safety will be ensured. [Via GMANews.tv] |
