One hundred eight home lots, each with an area of 65 to 71 square meters, out of a total 1,034 recovered tracts of land in Barangay Pantalan Luma were made known to the public by the municipal government of Orani to be given as a reward any time this February 2008 to the first batch of 108 family-beneficiaries.Under the local government's Lupang Panlingap sa Mahihirap, a family-beneficiary is imposed a monetary charge more or less P6,920 per lot that may be paid in installments. The lots to be given are portion of the ten hectare land reclaimed under the Iguana Resettlement project of the municipality of Orani. Two hectares out of 10-hectare land have been overlaid with landfill, while the remaining eight hectares are to be filled with soil scooped up from a river covered with deposit of sediment. This river is serving as a channel to the Orani fish port, and some time in the course of high tide big fishing boats can pass thru it. Reclamation is a big help to the people. The reclaimed land serves as home lot, while the body of water where the reclaimed land was scooped up was deepened and obstruction was eliminated, and as a result, the body of water serves for the easy passage of big boats.
