La Fiesta Grande de Orani
Written by Fergie

All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God. Sing joyfully to the Lord, all you lands: break into song; sing praise.

With these words borrowed from the psalmist, the town of Orani, el pueblo amante de Maria - a people in love with Mary - celebrated the feast of the Immaculate Virgin Mary under her title of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Orani.

The main door of the Church is a sight to behold in itself.  Carved on it are the images of the four evangelists side by side with that of the Blessed Mother - signifying that the role of Mary is to lead the faithful to be living witnesses of the Gospel.

Upon entering the Church, one's gaze shall be instantly led to the beautiful image of Our Lady who, though bedecked with vestments fit for her majestic role as the Queen of heaven and earth, is indeed seen to be more as mother than queen.

La Fiesta Grande de Orani

Under the gaze of the myriad of stained glass windows and murals showing scenes of the life of Mary and her son Jesus, all the ends of the earth knelt at the feet of our Sweet Mother on this blessed day, singing hymns of praise and gratitude.

In the Gospel of the Evangelist Luke for this day, Jesus uses the expression, "Your faith has saved you."

Faith involves the openness of the person to the grace of the Lord; to recognize that all is gift, all is grace. Like the healed Samaritan leper, the faithful devotees who flocked the Church of Orani showed that they do not consider their blessings as something that is "merited", but as a gift that came from God, through the intercession of the Miraculous Virgin.
