Seventy Aeta elders in Bataan attended a two-day training course on leadership and basic management at the regional training center of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Dinalupihan recently.Organized by the ATI and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), the training aims to equip participants with appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes so that they will be able to: - identify the values system;
apply on their own the concept and skills in leadership and management; interpret and interplay the concepts of team building, decision-making and problem-solving; discuss the importance of good communication in organization and how to attain and improve it; and demonstrate the basic roles and ideal qualities of a community organizer.
The first batch of Aeta elders finished their training last May 31 while the second batch, last June 6.
The Aetas in Bataan are among the scattered groups of Aetas found in the mountains of the province and in Zambales. Their settlements are mostly located around the area of the Bataan Natural Park in Dinalupihan. There are also small Aeta settlements in the municipalities of Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Balanga City, Orion, Limay, Mariveles, Bagac and Morong. Via PIA-Bataan |
