Pan De Sal Recipe

FNRI has the latest invented nutritious food to answer the growing needs of under weight children, from zero to ten years old respectively base on the data from the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), continuously making researches to increase commendations for the upgrading of the nutritional status of Filipinos. And one of their newest preparation is the squash enriched pan de sal. It is now being fed daily to 250 under nourished Grade I pupils from public schools in Matain, Subic, Zambales as part of the 120 days study of the product. The study will end on December which the development of the formerly underweight pupils will be compared to their present weight.

Ms. Tobias, the supervising science research specialist of FNRI clarify in a recent meeting with the Bataan Provincial Nutrition Committee that squash, a Vitamin A-rich vegetable can also enriched in buns and loaf aside from pan de sal. FRNI also came up with other nutritional foods like rice and mongo curls, low-calorie ice cream and high-fiber sausage.
