Broadband over Power Lines (BPL), refers to the new technology of using the 20, 30 or even 40 year old electrical wires for internet connection. Using conventional convenience outlets found basically in every house and a plug-in device to connect to the internet. Pretty smart don't you think? Still on its test phase, BPL promises to open a lot of door for new opportunities and a window for urbanization. PENELCO will be the second electric cooperative in the Philippines to deploy the test phase of the project. In this regard selected employees were sent to Capiz where the BPL was first deployed for a rigorous of the new technology.

The training was held in the beautiful City of Roxas the Seafood Capital of the Philippines. Known for its infamous folklore, myths and gossips about having "aswangs", we were left aghast upon our arrival. Especially with the warmth and hospitality of Capiznons. What we knew all along were just speculations and pure hearsay from imaginative minds. It was a peaceful island with a beautiful and astoundingly serene beaches with calm waves (except from a time to time "basco" as they call it or a local storm), and exceptionally good food.
