Nine food processors, whose products bear the Galing-Bataan brand, will be highlighted in this year's LIKHA ng Central Luzon trade fair come October 5-9 as part of the province's grand local product showcase in the trade event.
The LIKHA ng Central Luzon, now on its 7th year, carries for its theme "Produktong De-Kalidad, Susi sa Pag-unland" and will be featuring various product lines from more than 100 micro, small, and medium enterprises all over Central Luzon. The trade event will be conducted at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. The province's nine trade fair participants have adopted the Galing-Bataan for their product brand to further enhance their potential market since the brand name itself suggests and delineates the competence and quality of Bataan products. Galing-Bataan, said Leonor Paningbatan of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is a project under the provincial government's brand development program which serves as the seal of quality and excellence of the local products of Bataan. Paningbatan identified the province;s LIKHA participants as Amanda's Marine Products, YDL Aqua Marine Products and AHD' Table delights (cassava cookies) from the City of Balanga; Aling Chayong's Cashew Products from Limay; Bagac Farm and Food Processing (cashew nuts) from Bagac town; Beakris House of Goodies and N.C. Tiongson Enterprise (coffee) from Orani; Joyce's Araro Cookies from Samal; and Bataan Center for Innovative Science & Technology (processed fruits) from Morong. Apart from the nine food processors, two other manufacturers of furniture and houseware, made it to the list of the province's roster of LIKHA participants this year including Una Disenyo (furniture) from Pilar and Dandomia Craft (kitchen accessories) from Mariveles town. In support of the traders, the DTI has conducted a series of seminars and trainings for manufacturers to equip them with the essential know-how of entrepreneurship such as product development seminar, packaging, and labeling design development (for food products), new design development (for non-food products), capability building seminars such as on how to negotiate with buyers, visual merchandising and market trends and updates. The DTI, said Paningbatan, is hopeful and expectant , as the market trend of the LIKHA demonstrated in the precious years, that this year's participants will acquire a great deal of profits out of their products. The DTI-Bataan even expressed confidence that the province's performance and good standing in terms of product sales will at least be maintained, if not broaden, in this year's trade event due to full blast promotions the agency carried out to potential buyers in the previous months.
