Recently, Officers from the Manila Ocean Park and WW-Philippines underwent an ecological immersion in Morong, Bataan planting mangroves, assessing marine habitats, and polishing field skills to become better advocates for coastal conservation. Mangal or mangrove forests, seagrass beds, and coral reefs are the three major marine ecosystems that were visited. |

Pilar, once troubled town in Bataan, once mark as the center for prostitution and illegal drugs, is now a thing of the past. The town is now one of the most peaceful areas in the region. The police had been successful in the campaign to rid the town of almost all criminal activities, organized crimes, proliferation of illegal drugs and prostitution, among others, since Mayor Charlie Pizarro, a known anti-illegal drug advocate, took over the helm of the municipal government a few years ago. |

Officials led by Mayor Joet S. Garcia have started to renovate the Balanga City plaza, which is to be called Plaza Mayor de Balanga. The said project is done while the city government waits for the implementation of a P200 million new arcade here. And since Balanga's coastal areas have been declared sanctuary for some 50,000 birds which continued to flock in this city, Mayor Garcia also announced the construction of the P8 million Balanga Wetland Center in Barangay Tortugas in preparation for the 5th International Bird Festival set in October. |

Drug addiction is one of the biggest problem of our youth today. These youngsters are fascinated by the sweet scented words of the drug lords in terms of a share money in the sense that it could buy anything under the sun. Some tried drugs for curiosity, they cannot be ignorant of the after effect that may come later. |
