The Port of Orion in Bataan is now reopening its service to the public. Though the Diosdado Macapagal Port Terminal worth P35 million is still undergoing finishing construction. New vessel Ocean Jet I of Ocean Fast Ferries is now taking passengers back and forth from CCP terminal in Manila to Orion port. It’s been a year since the operation of the ferry stopped; one reason is that passengers could no longer afford the fare. |

The Bataan General Hospital (BGH), Balanga City is constructing an additional contemporary three-storey hospital ward building worth P 50 million. It has a total floor area of 1,813 square meters that will have a number of 100 rooms for private and ward rooms. It is hoped to be finished before the year ends as the government aims to extend health services to the public.

The 3rd Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) regional student conference held yearly was recently done at the main office of Penelco in Balanga City. Five (5) engineering students from Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Main Campus joined the competition gave the title of Math Wizards. Two students of the BPSU team are scholars of the Department of Science and Technology. The wizards team take home P2,000 cash prize and trophy plus a medal for each of them.

Maybe that typhoon Hanna is too heavy, but it not became a hindrance for people to go at People's Center, Capitol Balanga City and witness the successful coronation night of Ms. Bataan 2007 last Sunday night, September 30 who won by Monique T. Manuel, Dinalupihan town's bet against ten other candidates to be crowned Ambassadress of Tourism of Bataan province. She may not be able to attend the launching of Ms. Bataan 2007 search last August 25, this 18-year old lady who is a 3rd year Psychology student of Assumption College also because of the bad weather, ironically it became a blessing then when she beat in the said beauty and brain search the other candidates from the 9 towns and 1 city of the province.

Moriones, Kidapawan, Durian, Flower and Sinulog are just some of the many festivals that we Filipinos celebrate. There is never a doubt that Filipinos love festivities and gatherings and the townsfolk of Orani is a proof for that. Adding up to the growing list of festivals in our country is the "Alimango and Sugpo Festival". Although the town celebrates the feast almost every year to give thanks to the town’s patron saint, the Nuestra Señora Del Rosario, there is no given name to the said feast. But unlike any other fiesta, the town of Orani celebrates their fiesta with a bang. |
