President Arroyo cancelled another day off as she travelled in some provinces in Region III.
The president inspected some public schools in Bataan and Pampanga and distributes microfinance help to small businessmen.
With this visit in different of provinces of the country, the president actually to bring her government closer to the people.
Her first stop was in Mariveles, Bataan to be part of the launching of Information Hub in Mariveles National High School-Poblacion meant to improve computer literacy among students. The students of Mariveles high school received 65 new computers donated by Buhay Party-Rep. Carissa Coscuella. |

In line with the coastal-management program of the provincial government of Bataan no less than 45 hectares of coastal areas here have been reforested with mangroves. The said coastal areas are from Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Balanga, Pilar, Orion, Limay and Mariveles.
The provincial government is pursuing the mangrove reforestation in line with their sea-use zoning plan of the province. |

Senators Judith Guthertz and Rory Respicio of Guam delegation confirmed that Subic Bay would make an perfect training center for the thousands of Filipino skilled workers needed in the US territory, where the largest US military build-up since the end of World War II will be made. The said confirmation was part of the result as the lawmakers from Guam inspected the various skills-training facilities in the free port and urged the SBMA to form a Philippine delegation to Guam to expedite the setting up of the Subic Bay training center. |

Headed by Mayor Joet Garcia, City of Balnga in Bataan is promptly assessing flooding problems to immediately start for remedies. Taking lessons from what happened in Metro Manila and other areas in the country because of the typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng, Mayor Garcia stressed out the urgent need for the city government to pay concentration to the flooding problems here, especially because the country is frequently hammered by typhoons due to climate change. Garcia mentioned the five coastal villages here with regular flooding problems: Puerto Rivas Itaas, Puerto Rivas Ibaba, Puerto Rivas Lote, Tortugas and Sibacan. |
