Metrostar Ferry Inc. has announced its north expansion to link up with the Pasig River Ferry. According to Restie Biconong of Metrostar, the expansion program includes interconnecting with the Pasig River Ferry and plying the route emanating from the Mall of Asia Terminal to Orion, Bataan. |

Early this year, the town of Orion in Bataan had been chosen pilot area for the government’s iron-fortified rice project. According to Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo Jr. the project aims to address the problem of iron-deficiency anemia which is prevalent mostly among children and poor families in many parts of the country. |

And one of the top producers of world class seafarers is the Maritime Academy of Asia Pacific (MAAP) at Kamaya Point in Alas-asin in Mariveles, Bataan. Since graduates are globally competitive, seamen receive high salaries of not less than $3,000 monthly and treated well by their foreign employers. |

To boost revenue collections and cut back the extensive smuggling of oil products, Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales issued on July 3 an ordered creating the country’s 16th port, to be known as the Port of Limay. Port of Limay would serve as the principal port of entry and have jurisdiction over the entire province of Bataan except in areas controlled by the Subic Metropolitan Authority. |

Department of Tourism will endorse Balanga City in Bataan global as the latest bird watching site in the country. DOT, tour operators and Wild Birds Club of the Philippines gave thumb ups to the Balanga City, Bataan after visiting the seaside villages of Tortugas, Puerto Rivas Ibaba and Sibacan. |
