Pilar, Bataan, January 2012. Mt. Samat Zipline was inaugurated. The 540-meter long zip started at the Mt. Samat Firing Range going to the breath-taking view of the green mountain and rice paddies below to the Dunsulan Falls. According to Alice Pizarro, Pilar tourism council chair, the ride to a height of 43 meters above sea level. An adventurer may either ride a shuttle or hike from the foot of the historic mountain in Barangay Diwa to the launch pad. Then, at the end of the zipline, he will land and step out to a hanging bridge and stairs down the ground in Dunsulan Falls. |

Some maritime leaders from Asia and Europe call attention to the role of Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) together with their president Vice Admiral Eduardo Ma. R. Santos (AFP, ret.). Their goal is to mold young Filipinos as professional and globally competitive thru high quality of maritime education and training.

According to Hermosa Mayor Danny Malana the Sumi Philippines Wiring Systems Corp. will hire about 3,000 workers early next year. Malana also added that HEIP is a 165-hectare industrial estate component in a 478-hectare mixed-use property development in the municipality. |

Through the Executive Order 675 issued in November 2007, the partnership of SBMA and Hermosa town plans to include some lands of Hermosa, Bataan as extension of the free port.
In a meeting with SBMA directors Bienvenido Benitez, Philip Camara, John Philip Chua Chiaco and Ramon Diez Sesdoryo, Hermosa Mayor Danilo Malana stated that the Bataan Provincial Council has passed a resolution last January "concurring and adopting Executive Order 675 which authorizes certain contiguous areas in Hermosa to be declared as additional secured areas under the Subic Bay Special Economic and Freeport Zone as defined under Proclamation No. 532 dated February 1, 1995." |
