Japanese Dogfight Plane Found in Bataan

The remains of a destroyed World War II Japanese bomber plane call Tora-Tora and the skeletal remains of its pilot Sergent Toshishada Kurusawa has been found unexpectedly incompletely buried at the top of Mount Tarak located in the province Bataan.

The remains of both Sergeant Kurusawa and his Tora-Tora plane were come upon by a team of Stone Kurusawa, a shared American and Japanese journey to search for the remains of American pilot Second Lieutenant Earl Stone. This journey project, called the "Great Discovery", was headed and begun in 2006 by American national Spike Nasmyth.

 
Mariveles Commemorates Its 65th Liberation Day

Leaded by Mayor Jesse I. Concepcion, together with his people, commemorates the 65th Liberation Day of their historic town with different program.

The town started the celebration since February 8 and will run until February 28.

The celebration highlighted with different activities like sports programs, Battle of the Bands, bikers show, a grand civic and military parade, cultural dances, singing contest, and the selection of Mutya ng Mariveles.

The town is considered as one of the most historic places in the country when it as flattened and reduced to ashes by the fury of World War II.

 
Ayala Mall Subic

With the P3-billion mall project of Ayala Corp., more tourists are expected visit Subic Bay in the next three years.

After the completion of the Subic-Clark expressway, SBMA (Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority) is upgrading the former site of the US Naval base as a world-class water sports destination and a convention center.


In an interview, Armand C. Arreza of SBMA said that people will now have the chance to enjoy the same water sports attraction without traveling as far as Camarines Sur.

 
Fish Sanctuary Set Up in Limay

In cooperation with Limay municipal government and Petron's Bataan Refinery, Panguluhan ng mga Maliliit na Mangingisda ng Limay (Pangmamali) set up a fish sanctuary measuring 7.5 hectares at the waters off Barangay Wawa in the town.

Municipal Agricultural Officer Joselito Galicia said that Pangmamali is an alliance of fisher folk groups in all the coastal villages of Limay.

The said fish sanctuary was finally installed with 25 modules of artificial reefs (concrete units) and another 35 modules (bamboo) from the Limay municipal government.
