Bataan LPG Tricycles

To encourage tricycle drivers and operators in the city of Balanga, Bataan, the city government, headed by City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III is preparing a package of incentives to the first 200 tricycle drivers and operators who are interested to convert their units from gasoline to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuel.

The city government allocated P5,000 each as financial assistance for the first 200 tricycle units with the expected cost of conversion including installation of safety gadgets which runs to P13,000 per unit.

Three thousand members of Balanga City Federation of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association Inc. plying Balanga City and adjacent Pilar town have signified their intentions to join in the conversion campaign with the continuous increases in price of fossil fuels in the world market.

 
Road Trains to be at SCTEx

To save companies transport costs and to provide more efficient means of delivering goods between Clark and Subic, Subic-based International Heavy Trucks Center (IHTC) is bringing in the road train, or triples, a trucking system used in Argentina, Australia, Mexico, the United States and Canada to economically move cargo along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) by the yearend.

 
Mariveles Mountain Range

After the great wipe out made by the typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, the local government of Mariveles, Bataan is gearing to revitalize a move that would proclaim the entire Mariveles mountain range a national park for its further efficient conservation.

According to Luis Gonzales, municipal administrator, they will directly set up a motion to demand Congress to put the Mariveles mountain range under the National Integrated Protected Areas System (Nipas) to be converted into a national park.

In-place systems of Nipas, Mariveles mountain range would be further preserved effectively.

Bataan Special Economic Zone and Freeport

Two free ports would soon to rise in the province of Bataan as Bataan Second District Rep. Albert Garcia seeks to convert Bataan Economic Zone in Mariveles town into the Bataan Special Economic Zone and Freeport (BSEZFP) in his bill.

The said bill already passed in the Lower House and the Senate and is waiting for signing by President Arroyo.

The proposed BSEZFP in Mariveles will be ready for foreign trading and is set to become an international logistic hub.
